The Mental Health First Aid course provides the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential or developing mental health problems in themselves, family, a friend or a colleague. You will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, provide initial help and guide a person toward appropriate professional help. With theses skills you can preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others, provide comfort to a person experiencing a mental health problem and promote recovery of good mental health.
Everyone benefits, the more people that know the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems, interventions in crisis situations and ways to access help.
Mental Health First Aid training is a two day course that will happen on February 11 & 12, 2017 and again on March 18 & 25, 2017. Limited amount of students. Participants must attend both days to receive the certificate.
$20 deposit required. Deposit will be refunded by cheque on the last day of the course.
