The Youth Council Committee’s mandate is to provide a forum for young people to participate in local government by researching, advising, proposing and planning actions in the community to council. The Committee is comprised of two members of Council and between 5 and 13 members of the public between the ages of 16 and 22 years.

Youth should live in or go to school in the City of Leduc and be available for a one year term from January to December 2020.

The Youth Council will be responsible for:
a. Gathering and reviewing reports and other evidence relevant to its mandate
b. Planning events and community initiatives relevant to its mandate
c. Providing recommendations to council on how to engage and support young people
d. Taking such other actions on matters of special interest to young people that may be reasonable

The Youth Council Committee has been established as a committee of council pursuant to Bylaw No. 1022-2019.
