On January 17 and 18, 2026, step into the heart of Edmonton’s Alberta Avenue District for a magical celebration of winter, art, and culture. Deep Freeze honors the Olde New Year, blending timeless traditions with contemporary creativity, making it a unique event that captures the beauty of winter and the spirit of community.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available between January 12-16 for set up, January 17 and 18 during the festival, and January 19 and 20 to help take everything down.
Available positions:
- Site set up: Helping with set up, carpentry, and organization, this is an outside role that can accomodate you and all of your friends – dress warm and be prepared to lift up to 20 lbs!
- Kitchen: Cooking, meal preparation, portioning, baking, and serving.
- Outdoor Street Fun: Horse and wagon rides, sled races, ice slides and log cutting competitions – you’ll be helping the public with all of our fun programming through the festival.
- Security: help with safety and patrolling the grounds
- Fundraising: Help collect donations and patrol the festival chatting to people
- Photography: Scour the festival for the coolest shots to post on socials.
