Orbis Canada’s Plane Pull for Sight is taking place in Calgary on June 16. Teams of 20 will take part in the ultimate tug-of-war against a 65 ton Boeing 757 aircraft. They will compete to see who can pull the jet 20 feet in the fastest time!
With great entertainment, plane tours, and fun activities; it’s going to be a party on the tarmac for the whole family – and we need your help to host!
All the money raised will go to support Orbis’s work saving the sight of men, women and children around the world.
Volunteer opportunities are available in the following areas:
– Registration: welcoming our guests
– Ushers: ensuring everyone is having fun and behaving in a safe manner
– Activity Zones: supervising one of the many fun activities we have on site including the inflatable slide or the bouncy castle
– Refreshment Zones
You would be needed onsite from 9am until 2.30pm. Lunch is provided. The role may include some light lifting during set-up and take-down. If this will be a problem for you, please let us know and we can find you another equally important task which does not involve any lifting.
If you’re someone who is passionate about making a big difference in your community and globally, please volunteer and help us to put on an event to remember!
If you have any questions about the different roles available please contact Peter Maddox at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Orbis Canada is part of an international non-profit that brings people together in the fight against avoidable blindness. We transform lives by working to eliminate avoidable blindness and visual impairment. Did you know that of the 253 million people in the world who are blind or visually impaired? But more shockingly, 80% of these people have an eye condition that can be prevented or cured – and that is what Orbis does. Our mission is to transform lives through access to quality eye health. Together with our partners, we train eye care teams, strengthen eye health systems and work on the ground to provide lasting solutions to communities in need.
