This course provides the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential or developing mental health problems in themselves, family, a friend or a colleague. You will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, provide initial help and guide a person toward appropriate professional help. With these skills you can preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others, provide comfort to a person experiencing a mental health problem and promote recovery of good mental health.

Mental Health First Aid training is a two day course that will happen on February 10 & 11, 2018 (Saturday-Sunday) and again on March 24 & 31, 2018 (two consecutive Saturdays). Class is from 8:00 am-4:00 pm, each day. Please arrive a few minutes early.
You must attend both days to receive a Certificate from Mental Health Commission of Canada.
While NAITSA offers this training course for free, a $20 deposit is required. Deposit will be returned in the form of a NAITSA cheque:
– at the end of the course to all participants that complete the full two day course.
– if the student withdraws from the course up to 72 hours before course start time.
