How to Cook: Pesto Pasta
April 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm$10
Our How To Cooking series is moving online! We have partnered with NAIT Alumni Chef Steven Brochu, Owner of MilkCrate to bring our How to: Cook series to your kitchen.
Through a live, online cooking class, Chef Steven will show you how to prepare a delicious and simple meal from scratch. Fragrant basil, tender pasta, and fresh garlic will go into the making of this mouth-watering (and vegetarian-friendly) pesto pasta. Along the way, Chef Steven will demonstrate tips and tricks that you can use to help boost your culinary prowess!
Just like our in-person cooking classes at NAIT, all ingredients for this meal will be provided. Stay safe in your home with no need to shop; your groceries for this meal will be delivered to your door the day of the event! Later that evening, you’ll receive instructions for how to login and join a Zoom call as Chef Steven demonstrates how to cook this tantalizing meal for two.
Sounds too good to be true? It’s not! This style of event is new to NAITSA, so we understand you may have questions. Read below for all the need-to-know info.
What will we be making?
Chef Steven will walk you through the steps of making a vegetarian-friendly pesto pasta.
How many meals will this make?
You will receive enough supplies to make two servings.
How does it work?
All participants are required to purchase a ticket and sign up in advance. Each student will then receive groceries (delivered curbside, or with the option to pickup from Milk Crate (10423 101 St NW, Edmonton)) on April 9th. Then at 6pm, log on to Zoom to join the class and follow along.
What supplies do I need?
You will need a computer or mobile device to follow along on Zoom, as well as basic kitchen supplies, such as a cutting board, knives, a pot to boil the pasta, a frying pan, utensils, etc.
I don’t live in Edmonton. Can I still participate?
Unfortunately this event is limited to those who reside within the greater Edmonton area. Groceries will only be delivered to those who live within Edmonton city limits. If you live in a surrounding community, you may still attend but you will be responsible for collecting your groceries from Milk Crate.
I have allergies. Can I participate?
We tried our best to select a meal that will work with substitutions. We are happy to work with you and try to accommodate any allergies, where possible. If you are uncertain, you can reach out to our Event Manager, Rechelle, at firstname.lastname@example.org for any allergy-related questions.
If you have additional questions about this event, please reach out to our Events Manager at email@example.com
Registration for this event will close once tickets sell out, or on April 7th at noon.
