Marketing & Promotions Assistant (Student Opportunity)
We are seeking a motivated and creative student to join our Communications team on a part-time basis. The Marketing & Promotions Assistant assists with a variety of tasks within the Communications department to help us achieve our goal of effectively marketing and promoting NAITSA’s services and offerings. This is a great opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in the field of marketing (on campus!) while balancing their academic responsibilities.
Reporting to the Communications Director, the responsibilities of this position will include, but may not be limited to:
Maintenance of poster boards around campus – 40%
Ensure all poster boards throughout campus are updated and maintained with relevant marketing materials weekly, following NAITSA’s poster board policies.
Assist with social media content – 25%
Collaborate with the Social Media Marketing Specialist to develop and schedule engaging content for our various social media platforms.
Assist with content creation and monitoring social media trends.
Promotional booths and Street Team advertisements – 25%
Support the Communications team in setting up and managing promotional booths around campus.
Participate in Street Team activities to promote NAITSA’s campaigns throughout the academic year.
Other – 10%
Other duties may be assigned based on marketing needs and the successful candidate’s skills, interests, and availability.
Qualifications & Considerations
- Must be a NAIT student enrolled for the academic year, until at least April 2026
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- General knowledge and interest in marketing, social media, and promotions
- Previous work experience in marketing, social media management, and/or promotions is considered an asset
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently
- Reliable and dependable to attend scheduled shifts and meet deadlines
Working Conditions
- Minimum 10 hours per week, with some flexibility depending on the required tasks
- Physical requirements include walking the entire campus, lifting up to 25 lbs, repetitive motions, standing for long periods
