Attention NAIT Students!

NAIT has proposed 2 new Mandatory Non-Instructional Fees for next year. Government legislation requires that new MNIFs receive the written approval of the students’ association. If these fees are approved, they will add $125 per semester in costs to students by 2022/23. If these fees are not approved some services may be reduced or eliminated.

Please review the two proposed fees and give us your feedback in the form provided.
 

Student Technology Fee

This fee would be for the following services:

– bandwidth
– IT Helpdesk
– IT projects
– learning software
– loanable technology
– makerspace
– One AT NAIT card
– project printing and finishing
– software licensing
– student computer commons
– technology-assisted delivery of service

Cost:
– 2020/21 $35 per term ($4.30 per week for apprenticeship students)
– 2021/22 $43 per term ($5.20 per week for apprenticeship students)
– 2022/23 $50 per term ($6.10 per week for apprenticeship students)

 

Student Support Services Fee

This fee would be for the following services:

– career services
– chaplaincy
– diversity and inclusion resources for gender and sexual minorities
– International Student engagement
– learning strategist services
– mental health programming
– new student orientation initiatives
– Aboriginal student services
– a registered dietician
– student advising services
– student awards administration
– student counselling services
– a Student Resolution Office
– and tutoring services

Cost:

– 2020/21 $25 per term ($3.00 per week for apprenticeship students)
– 2021/22 $50 per term ($6.10 per week for apprenticeship students)
– 2022/23 $75 per term ($9.10 per week for apprenticeship students)
