Autism Speaks Canada Walk

At Autism Speaks Canada, our mission is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.

We are dedicated to funding global research into the causes and treatments; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bring hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.

The Autism Speaks Canada events are the single most important annual fundraising initiative for Autism Speaks Canada to support Scientific Research, Services, Advocacy and Awareness. Yet, the Walks are more than a fundraiser, they provide an incredible opportunity for the ASD community to come together and make connections and feel the support of donors, sponsors, local media, community partners, and corporate sponsors.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting the Edmonton Autism Speaks on August 20th in a triathlon starting at Terwillegar Pool.

We need 60+ volunteers to assist on the day of the triathlon as Swim Marshals, Transition Zone Volunteers, Cycle Marshals, Run Marshals, Info Booth, Event Setup/ Teardown and more. The triathlon takes place on the day of Sunday, August 20th all day starting from 6am and ending at 5pm (shifts will vary throughout the day) . Upon registering all volunteers will receive position info sheet, over the phone training and a full meal on the day of the event. Over the phone training will happen prior to the day of the event. Required hours vary with position. If you want to volunteer but would prefer to volunteer for a shift in a particular group of hours just ask.

Volunteers must be over the age of 14 (unless volunteering with family). As always, volunteers of all abilities are welcome.
