The Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta strives to improve the quality of life for people affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus through advocacy, education, research, and support. We deliver programs, social events, and resources to members to help meet this goal.
The tenth annual Hope Classic: Run, Walk, Wheel event, supporting individuals and families affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus, is hosted by the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta (SBHANA), and will take place on August 19th, 2017. In this family friendly, non-competitive event, participants will walk, run, or wheel their way through a 5km or 8km paved course in Rundle Park. Following the race, a free family barbecue will be hosted, featuring music, face painting, and door prizes. Through this event, we hope to: raise funds for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Associations across Canada; promote public understanding of disability issues; and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of persons with disabilities.
We are seeking volunteers for this event, including race marshals, water station, race registration and kit stuffing.
