You are invited to nominate a retired or retiring instructor for the prestigious faculty emeritus award. The Latin word emeritus means “to earn by service” and the award recognizes faculty members who have made outstanding contributions in our community.

The nomination deadline is November 8, 2019. To be eligible nominees must be either retired or retiring from NAIT in 2020.

Nomination Process

A strong nomination package should clearly show how the nominee has demonstrated

– significant contributions to fellow peers, students, industry, their scholarly discipline, NAIT and/or the broader community for a cumulative period of at least 5 years.

– behaviour and actions are consistent with NAIT values.

If you have any questions about submitting a nomination, please contact the chair of the faculty emeritus sub-committee, Garry Wilson at or 8916.

Nominations will be reviewed by a sub-committee of the Academic Council, which includes representation from NASA and NAITSA. The recommendations of the sub-committee will then go to the Academic Council for approval.
