Health Zone Interpreters bring the Health Zone exhibit to life! As an interpreter, you will help guests do hands-on biology experiments in the L.A.B. (Learning About Biology) space and spend time interacting with them in the exhibit. By facilitating hands-on experiences, you will encourage guests to ask questions, make hypotheses, do science, and discover more about their bodies and their health.
An interest in biology, the human body, and health and an outgoing personality are requirements for this position. Previous lab experience will be an asset but is not mandatory. All applicants must be 15 years of age or older with grade 9 science. Volunteer staff are requested to commit to one, 3-5 hour shift per week over a period of three months, or the equivalent of 40 hours.
Shifts:
• Daily Shifts (Mon – Fri): 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Weekends (Sat or Sun): 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. OR 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
