The NAIT Students’ Association (NAITSA) is a registered non-profit organization that exists to provide services, representation, and leadership to students enrolled in credit and apprenticeship programs in one of Canada’s largest polytechnic institutions, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).
Position Summary
The Campus Life Marketing Manager is a key member of the Campus Life leadership team. This role leads the marketing and communications efforts for Campus Life events and initiatives, with a focus on fostering student engagement through the Ooks Life brand. The position oversees the promotion of events and involvement opportunities, manages the Ooks Life social media accounts, supervises and mentors student staff, supports and guides Campus Life and Campus Clubs in their marketing efforts, and leads the administration and growth of the Ooks Life app. With a proactive mindset and hands-on approach, the Marketing Manager plays a vital role in building community and student engagement.

Responsibilities
This position reports to the Campus Life Director and has the following overall responsibilities:
Ooks Life brand management:
- Act as the brand manager for the Ooks Life brand; lead all marketing initiatives including branding and promotion, communications, and increasing brand engagement.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies related to promotions and engagement.
Social media and marketing management for Campus Life & Campus Clubs:
- Manage @ookslife and @naitsaclubs social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting.
- Collaborate on campaigns with the @naitstudents account manager, as required.
- Promote the Campus Clubs Centre to current and prospective club leaders, focusing on starting a club, club leader opportunities, events and initiatives, deadlines, the Campus Clubs newsletter.
- Plan and implement campaigns for student staff on the Ooks Life Team (OLT) including, annual recruitment, building brand recognition of OLT, and recognizing OLT staff.
Event Promotions & Coordination:
- Generate and implement effective strategies to let students know what’s happening on their campus and inspire them to get involved.
- Plan and implement marketing campaigns for Campus Life initiatives.
- Collaborate with NAITSA’s Communications department to maximize the power of our web and design resources, and liaise with external event stakeholders to promote collaborative events.
- Support the planning and execution of NAITSA events and attend events to capture promotional content (photo & video).
Supervision of student staff:
- Hire, train, and supervise student Promotions Coordinators & Involvement Coordinator on Ooks Life Team (OLT).
- Provide mentorship and development opportunities, including performance evaluations.
- Monitor student staff hours and budgets.
- Participate in Ooks Life Team (OLT) activities as required, including OLT meetings, Customer Service Training, socials, etc.
Platform & App management:
- Daily operational administration through Ookslife.ca Engage platform and Navengage Ooks Life App.
- Develop campaigns to promote Ooks Life app adoption and drive user engagement.
- Analyze usage data and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
Support other Campus Life initiatives as required:
- Collaborate on department planning, budgeting, and strategic goal setting.
- Participate in regular Campus Life leadership team meetings.
- Support the team at NAITSA flagship events (i.e., Nest Fest, Pancake Breakfast, etc.)
Qualifications / Required Skills / Considerations

Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience will be considered; experience participating in or supporting a post-secondary environment is a strong asset.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in marketing, promotions, social media management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff or volunteers.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional marketing initiatives or working with communications teams.
- Budget management and financial tracking experience is an asset.
Technical & Digital Skills:
- Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook) and social media scheduling tools.
- Experience using Google Analytics or other analytics tools to monitor and report on campaign performance.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools for creating promotional materials.
- Comfortable using content management systems and email marketing tools.
- Experience with basic photo and video editing for social media is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital platforms; familiarity with Anthology Engage (ookslife.ca) and Navengage is a strong asset.
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce engaging, brand-aligned content.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Collaborative, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Access to a personal smartphone is required for communication, social media management, and app-based engagement. Monthly reimbursement will be provided to offset the business-use portion of the device.
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends in support of events and student staff.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Employment is conditional upon completion of a satisfactory Canadian Criminal Record Check.
Working Conditions
- Position Status: Full Time Permanent
- Work Location: NAITSA, Room O108, 11762 106 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5G 3H4. Occasional flexibility for hybrid work.
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, standard office hours, 37.5 hours/week. Some occasional evenings or weekends may be required to support events and student staff.
- Physical Requirements: Primarily office-based work with occasional requirements for event participation, booth setup, carrying materials to events (up to 40lbs).
What We Offer
- Salary: $58,000 – $62,000 per year, commensurate with experience
- Paid time off package including Vacation, Personal Choice Days, 3 Summer Fridays, Fall Break, and two-weeks off for December Break
