Marketing & Promotions Assistant (Student Opportunity)

We are seeking a motivated and creative student to join our Communications team on a part-time basis. The Marketing & Promotions Assistant assists with a variety of tasks within the Communications department to help us achieve our goal of effectively marketing and promoting NAITSA’s services and offerings. This is a great opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in the field of promotions (on campus!) while balancing their academic responsibilities.

Reporting to the Communications Director, the responsibilities of this position will include, but may not be limited to:

Assist with social media content – 50%

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Marketing Specialist to develop and schedule engaging content for our various social media platforms.
  • Assist with content creation and monitoring social media trends.

Promotional booths and street team advertisements – 40%

  • Support the Communications team in setting up and managing promotional booths around campus.
  • Participate in street team activities to promote NAITSA’s campaigns throughout the academic year.

Other – 10%

  • Other duties may be assigned based on marketing needs and the successful candidate’s skills, interests, and availability.

Qualifications & Considerations

  • Must be a NAIT student in good standing enrolled for the 2025-26 academic year, until at least April 2026
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a flexible schedule, ideally those available to work shifts between 11am–2pm on weekdays, during peak times
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous work experience in marketing, social media management, and/or promotions is considered an asset
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Reliable and dependable to attend scheduled shifts and meet deadlines

Working Conditions

  • Average 10 hours per week, with some flexibility depending on the required tasks
  • Must be comfortable to be in front of a camera and have your likeness online
