Zone 4

Welcome to the NAITSA Student Senate Election. My name is Cole Chalmers; a 2nd year Engineering Design Technology (EDT) student and I am running in the Student Senate Election to become a Zone #4 Senator. I am motivated to be a part of the Student Senate to grow my involvement to the wider student body.

Previously, I have had many opportunities to engage directly with my program, including being a part of the EDT’s Program Advisory Committee as a student representative. This encompassed meeting with outside members and program staff to assess industry needs, and how our program can better prepare students’ transition to industry. Additionally, I spend time volunteering within my program, assisting with Open Houses and tutoring peers. Through my previous work in municipal government, I had many opportunities to gain exposure to my CUPE local and learn the process of how large unions represent and advocate for public employees. A vote for Cole Chalmers is a vote in the belief of integrity and accountability in governance.
