Zone 3

Hey y’all!

I’m Silas Engen, a second-year Game Development student in the Game Programming section, running for Senate in Zone 3!

I’m running because I want to help make the student experience here even more connected and welcoming for students with different interests, personalities, and perspectives. From my own experience, finding the right people and communities at school can make all the difference! I had a tough first year, but through the support of my peers and instructors, I learned I had to fail to succeed (especially with HTML) and made it through.

With my experience as a youth leader and camp counsellor, I’ve learned how to listen to people, adapt to different situations, and make practical decisions when things don’t go as planned. I’d like to bring that experience into Senate while learning more about how student governance works. As a Senator, my goals would be to contribute to bylaw approval, annual budget approval, and representation oversight, while respecting the time and perspectives of students, staff, and fellow senators.
