Zone 4

My name is Thomas Arkinstall, and I’m running for Zone 4 on the NAITSA Senate for 2026-27. Nothing facilitates social mobility more than education. We are blessed to attend an institution that helps us better ourselves through meaningful employment. NAIT is a fantastic school because instructors care about their students’ well-being and education. I love the cultural diversity of NAIT and the people I have met here. Growing up, I was a poor student. It wasn’t until much later in life that I realized I had an invisible learning disability. Being a student is tough and can be immensely stressful. Students deserve a Senate that holds the Executive Council accountable, and I will do that work carefully and consistently. I will take bylaw approval and annual budget approval seriously, putting student interests first in every decision. Having learned about disability supports far too late myself, I know what is at stake when student services and funding are decided. My hobbies include skiing, video games, and Magic: The Gathering. I can also play piano and guitar, though not well. If you see me in the hallway, stop and say hi. Thank you, and remember to vote.
