Substantiated Violation of Bylaw 7.17 (Voter Privacy & Election Interference)
NAITSA takes voter privacy and election interference seriously.
Following an investigation by the Chief Returning Officer, a breach of Bylaw 7.17 (Voter Privacy & Election Interference) was substantiated.
Bylaw 7.17 exists to protect every member’s right to vote privately and free from influence, coercion, or interference. Candidates and campaign teams must not pressure voters to vote in their presence, observe voters while voting, or assist with completing electronic ballots.
As a result, Mehtab Singh Brar was disqualified from the election. Mehtab Singh Brar is prohibited from participating in any NAITSA election for a period of two (2) years, effective February 13, 2026, up to and including February 13, 2028.
