Website Content Manager

The Volunteer Website Content Manager oversees the creation, management, and optimization of all content featured on the organization’s website. This position is open to individuals motivated to contribute their expertise and creativity for the betterment of the autism community and is ideal for those seeking meaningful experience in digital content and communications. As a volunteer, the Website Content Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure web content is engaging, accurate, and consistent with the organization’s vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, write, edit, and publish engaging content for the website, including landing pages, blog posts and organization updates.
• Maintain and update the company website using WordPress website management, ensure optimal user experience through effective use of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
• Collaborate with board members and other volunteers to ensure content is visually appealing and technically robust.
• Monitor and analyze website traffic and user engagement metrics to help guide content improvements.
• Maintain website content calendars and ensure updates are published regularly and on schedule.
• Optimize content for search engines (SEO) and ensure accessibility for all users.
• Review and update existing website content to maintain accuracy, relevance, and consistency.
• Coordinate with external writers, agencies, and partners when needed.
• Ensure all website content complies with privacy, copyright, and accessibility standards.
• Respond promptly to feedback and requests for content changes.
• Provide basic IT support for internal systems and ensure efficient operation of digital tools and networks.

Qualifications

• Interest or background in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related fields.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of SEO principles, web analytics, and accessibility standards preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of volunteers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a flair for creating engaging content.

Working Conditions

• This is a volunteer position with flexible hours; remote or hybrid arrangement is available.
• Time commitment is negotiable but regular engagement is encouraged to support website updates and organizational initiatives.
